Nhe!

I guess the video below is not working. Well, it was the brand new trailer of Pirated of the Caribbean 3, to be launched in May.

Just to show how picky I am: below you can see a photo of Cipri's b-day cake. See the division between the top and the bottom? I tried to cover it with brigadeiro and that's why I soaked the cake with it. And that's why I was so upset: real cakes don't show their marks. :-( Maybe next time!

Here I go again

Dudes, check this out:

I hope it works. :-/

So, nothing new. Just a few things. Some of the relationships of people around me are falling apart. It doesn't mean that these are sad news, because sometimes you find love somewhere else. I don't like the idea of realizing that nothing is eternal (except death if you don't believe in reencarnation, like me) and - worse - everybody is replaceable (hope this word exists). Oh, well. On the other hand, we have sweet couples happier than ever: Eriquinha & Mau are pregnant and very very happy with the news. A big yey! YEY! Cipri's sis is getting married in June and she is quite excited with the wedding preparations. A big yey! YEY! (maybe in a couple of years I will be auntie Chris. YEY). Sophie, my friend Karla's baby, is so cute, healthy and smiley and just turned 2 months recently. It's Karla's birthday today. A big yey! YEY! Carmen's cute baby (half Romanian, half Thai) is learning English, Romanian and Thai. And he is just 3 month old! (she posted some nice pics and video on her blog, maybe moms-to-be and wanna be should have a look). A big yey! YEY! One of these days, Mari was talking about "it's about time me getting pregnant". I guess it was those biological clocks talk, but a big yey for that too. YEY! I wanna be an auntie, as you can see.

Enough of YEYs for now. My next adventure in the kitchen (I should give up my travel blog and start a food one) will be a CARROT CAKE. Yey! I have already the recipe with me. Yummy! I'll try to make it for Sunday, coz Sunday is cooking day.

It's God damn cold in London. Damn it! We want sun, we want sun! So many plans for summer. One of them is for my birthday, maybe (I said MAYBE) I'll celebrate it in Brighton. We'll see how things go.

Enough, need to have a bath before it gets too cold.

Trying to update this...

... but due to lack of news (and inspiration and tiredness), it's a hard task. So here are some pics.

I guess this was the Vatapah day at Mariana's place. I was eating desert already! :-P

And this is Cipri holding his brigadeiro cake. It was literally a brigadeiro cake, because the cake 'sucked' all the brigadeiro filling. And I was so frustrated that I put more and more bigadeiro. In the end this cake had 2 cans of brigadeiro in it. Quite sweet, but delicious. :-D

Quick updates:

* Cipri & Co. are back from Portugal. With a little sun burn! And speaking some few words in Portuguese (bonita/beautiful, muito bom/very good, por favor/please, obrigado/thank you, bacalhau/cod fish, gostoso/delicious, paxteix de belem/whatever, como vai/how are you, tudo bom/very well).

* I've started reading my "You Can Learn Romanian" book.

* The menu today was Pork with honey&mustard gravy and black beans with some meat inside, a.k.a. feijoada. Quite good, I must say.

* I baked a cake and som cookies with choc chips. Instead of white sugar I used brown sugar, so they were a bit... tasteless. I mean, not sweet. More brown sugar next time.

That's it for now, folks! See you soon!

I have found out that if I include a huge title (at least two lines), my little pink pig on the left will appear completely. W-O-W

This week was tough. I worked a lot, carried loads of boxes, worked from 7 am to 1 am, ate a lot of fatty food, stood up on high heels for 8 hours, etc, etc, etc. My body is so in pain that I feel like I've been working out every single day. I'm not complaining, just sharing the information. For this reason, I feel like sleeping the whole weekend. I can barely keep my eyes opened. But I am a strong woman and I will finish this post (especially because I am talking to mom on MSN and this conversation will last long).

Tomorrow Cipri will turn 30. He is coping with the new fact, but it is quite scary. Scary because in 3 months and a half will be my turn. I have to confess that I am not prepared to become 3.0 yet. In fact, I've never left my 2.2. 30 means that I have lived half of my life and I don't feel like I have done half of the things I wanted to. My list is huge and it keep increasing. To be honest, I haven't done half of the things I've expected to do before my 30's. :-(

It's true that I've done some things that weren't on my list before, like moving to London, getting the portuguese nationality, doing a masters, putting on 8 kg and breaking my leg. Now I have a brand new list for the next 5 years, to catch up with the missing things and don't feel too depressed when I turn 35. What is in this list? A trip to Australia, learn another foreign language (which will probably be Romanian), learn how to cook (well), and disappear with these 8 extra kilos. I'm not being too ambicious here because I don't want to get frustrated if I don't manage to do everything.

Speaking about cooking, did I tell you that I cooked vatapah last weekend? It wasn't too bad, but I took Mari too serious when she said to use a lot of ginger. Another thing that I have problem when cooking is the amount of food I prepare! My feijoada usually last for 2 weeks! Man, nobody can eat feijoada for so long. Besides not being healthy, it gets boring after two days! (the dearest reader is probably asking him/herself: "how does she expect to lose 8 kilos eating this kind of food?" I don't know, I ask myself the same question).

Just a last paragraph on food & birthday: tomorrow I will adventure myself in the kitchen again. I will (try to) prepare a lasagna and a chocolate cake. Fingers crossed!
